“In time, a primitive tribe of nocturnal humanoids cautiously made their way to the edges of the mesmerizing enchanted lake. The feral, nomadic humanoids, drawn by the Well’s strange energies, built crude homes upon its tranquil shores. Over time, the Well’s cosmic power affected the tribe, making them strong, wise, and virtually immortal. The tribe adopted the name Kaldorei, which meant “children of the stars” in their native tongue. To celebrate their budding society, they constructed great structures and temples around the lake’s periphery.” (source)
Remember your first time noticing your Night Elf’s canines?
whoa..did not notice that before.
There is a rumor.. (only a rumor mind you) that Elves evolved from Trolls.
I’ve heard that. Similar ears.
Of course we have five fingers and toes, stand upright, and our fangs have become so small as to escape casual notice.
Even if the Night Elves did descend from Trolls, they have the same relation to them as Humans have to the Gorillas in STV, the Dwarves to the Troggs, and the Gnomes to the Kobalds infesting the Elwynn and Loch Modan areas.
The Trolls had grand civilization once. It appears that the Night Elves carried the banner of civilization forward while the Trolls descended back into barbarity. But what did apes, troggs, or kobolds ever bring the world? (Leather leggings and head knocks.)
Being Troll-kin doesn’t sound half bad in that light!
Oi, a li’ll moah respec’ fo us Darkspeah troll, aye?
We no build palace’as like di elfin do, but us ‘ave a rich an’ collahfull ‘istoreh ‘n cultu’ah.
