Ran into Paul Lazzaro’s friend last night.

Let me explain with a movie quote.

“That Corporal. He’ll get back home after the war. He’ll be a big hero. Dames’ll be climbin’ all over him. Couple of years go by, and one day there’s gonna be a knock on his door, and there’ll be this stranger. ‘Paul Lazzaro sent me,’ the stranger will say and shoot his pecker off. Stranger will give him a couple of seconds to think about who Paul Lazzaro is… and what life’s gonna be like without a pecker, then he’ll shoot him once in the guts and walk away.”

From Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse Five.

See, I was securing the Icewing Bunker. Ran into a Dorf Hunter, he was decked out in his Tier 1 gear, skateboard ramp shoulders and his green glow staff/bow. He does the usual insta-feign+ice trap move. Except I anticipate this and actually jump over where it must have been placed and follow him down the stairs. I kill him on the bottom.

For the rest of the game I had a Hunter’s Mark on me. From outside of Stormpike down to the inner sanctum of the Frostwolf Keep. The dude made a macro to target me, whereever I may be. And tracked me down across the map.

Well, two can play that game. I made a macro to target him. I’d fire it and find him and see he was working on someone else. That person dead the mark was put onto me. I then tried a couple times to just move to him and kill him. Smart for a Dorf he stayed surrounded by allies and I never reached him alive. When I did I was ice trapped. And then reapproaching him I get scatter shot. And then, no doubt, his feign death back up and he’d again insta-feign+ice trap me. And his auto-shots crit at 1400 so…

So I happened to run across a psycho.

In the end we both were tied in Killing Blows.

I’ve played a hunter like that. In the 10-19 wsg’s I’d make a macro to target the worst of the rogue twinks. Not that Fiery + Death Stealing enchants on a level 19 character deserved any less. But if I can put a mark on your 500g butt for two minutes, I’m going to try. And on YOU, you specifically, the entire game.

But if my goal is to help my team, then I’d put the mark on my targets. Not on a vicitim I have a vendetta against. But, heck, he was alliance. They can win, and eat their cake too.

Otherwise just a mindless week of honor grinding in the BG’s. (And pugging it, no premades.) At 210k honor so far. Really gunning for Rank 10 before the patch.

Good luck on Rank 10, and on 210K honor!

Yesterday I was waiting in the AV cave for the gate to open and saw a Horde General in [Big PvP Shoulders]. I inspected him, clicked the honor tab — his last-week-honor total was 729K. Yep, that’s no typo: 729K honor for a week.

It took me a big push last night just to reach 108K honor for the week…

man u guys are crazy at HK’s

Usually, when i do BG’s every weekend or so, I average around 24kills (1.3khonor or so) and thats from AB!!!!!!!! I should get more, but im on defense most of the times..and i dont die too much either :)

It be nice to be playing a loooooong BG (like wsg) and develop a “rival” personally a guy whos just as good as you and whenever u 1vs1 him its always a well faught battle….

Another landmark I just passed this week is the 10,000 honorable kills mark. Which is, I’ve got to say, a bunch of people. That’s like a small town’s amount of people. For the Horde!

Before x-server I didn’t pvp much. (Too long to wait when I could be doing something, like level to 60.)

But I had friends who did and they did remember developing mutual respect for some of our alliance enemies. They knew each other by sight on the battlefields and did the 1v1 battles. There was honor to be found on the battlefield.
